We proposed that this wedding, hosted at San Francisco’s Academy of Sciences, have a Darwinian theme in tune with the educational institution’s focus on evolution. The invitation package featured an image of the actual cover of Darwin’s notebook, and the finches that led to his theory of evolution. The invitation is secured with a porcupine quill (finch quills, it turns out, are hard to find on Etsy).
